LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

This year has been a strange one for all of us. COVID-19 has affected everyone in some way, with the students' year cut short and numerous milestones cancelled. Even our little creative arts magazine has been monumentally shaken; this is the first digital edition of Semanteme ever! I have had the most fun and gratification working on this project all year since my involvement in the magazine during my sophomore year. From seeing the contest submissions pour in, to organizing an in-school coffeehouse, my love for literature has never been stronger than with my facilitation of creative expression this year at Semanteme.

-Julie Larick, 2020

Semanteme is Shaker Heights High School's creative arts magazine. We host contests throughout the year and accept art and writing submissions for our annual year-end publication. Students submit via email or put physical copies of their work in the folder outside room 108. Semanteme also hosted a coffeehouse at the beginning of the year where students read their poetry in the small auditorium. Thank you to all who submitted and participated throughout the year and to all the readers of our online magazine,
